Cogent


Cogent is an adjective.
Meaning: convincing, appealing forcibly to the mind or reason

Helpful hints:
Cops are such gentleman or at least they appear as though they are. I often find that they provide quite cogent reasons for their behaviour, good and bad. With such convincing, anything they do looks to be proper.

Besmirch


Besmirch is a verb.
Meaning: to soil, tarnish, or discolour
Secondary meaning: to detract from the honour or lustre of

Bianca, whom they call B, smirked as she simultaneously poured a coke on my head and spread lies about my virtue. Not only did she soil my new white dress (even after days of washing it remains discoloured) but she single-handedly detracted from my honour and tarnished my good name with her lies.

Melee


Melee is a noun.
Meaning: disorganized close combat, confused hand-to-hand fight or stuggle among several people.
Secondary meaning: confusion, turmoil, jumble

Helpful hints:
The melee combat that transpired between me and Lee also involved our people. The fight was a disorganized mess! When we saw eachother we just attacked. No plans, no high tech weapons, just brawn and a will to survive.

Saturnine


Saturnine is an adjective.
Meaning: gloomy, dark, sullen
Secondary meaning: of or relating to lead, symptomatic of lead poisoning.

Helpful hints: 
The saturnine planet, Saturn, must really feel gloomy. I certainly would with all those rings around my eyes. It appears quite dark which I guess is why everyone thought it was made of lead
